Roosevelt: The Mastermind Behind Eight Decades of Communist Disaster
Appendix: Open Letter to U.S. President Biden on Thanksgiving 2021
Mr. President,
Every Thanksgiving, I give thanks together with my family and children — thanking God and thanking Uncle Sam of America for accepting us to come to this land of freedom, leaving behind the homeland where we could not stand firm. We are grateful to America for delivering us from suffering. In 1994, I went on a pilgrimage to Plymouth, Massachusetts with my son, who was about to serve in the army, and my daughter, who was about to enter university. We saw the Mayflower, the great sailing ship of 1620, and the pilgrims“ thatched cottages, remembering the blessings of our forebears who cleared a path for later generations and opened a broad and smooth road for us.
I have been in America for 40 years. Like many exiled democracy advocates, I deeply miss my homeland and want to return, but the Communist tyranny in mainland China blocks us and forbids our return. Year after year in America, our hearts remain restless. Some have helplessly passed away on American soil — Chinese conscience Liu Binyan, folk intellectual Wang Kang, among them — unwillingly dying on this foreign land.
We exiles still living in America face terrifying pressure from Xi’s Communist agents who operate recklessly, making people fearful. It is estimated that 300,000 Communist Party members infiltrate the Chinese-American community, controlling Chinese organizations through the Chinese embassy and consulates. 85% of Chinese-language media in the U.S. are bought and infiltrated by the Communist Party. WeChat, widely used among Chinese-Americans, is controlled by the Communist Party and used for propaganda favoring Xi. When Xi visited the U.S. a few years ago, Communist Chinese organizations organized thousands to welcome him; each year, Chinese Communist flags fly in Chinese-American communities more enthusiastically than American flags during U.S. National Day. Chinese who come to America seem to still live in mainland China. They transplant the Communist Party’s system into America, infiltrating everywhere. America is free and open with wide-open doors but pays little attention. Only in 2020, after Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s condemnation, did infiltration recede somewhat — Confucius Institutes changed their names, to something like language centers.
In 2019, I cooperated with a friend to publish Judging Mao Zedong, but he dared not reveal his identity or show his face, fearing pursuit by Xi’s agents. An old classmate warned me not to disclose my identity, reminding me how Li Zhisui died. Mao’s personal doctor Li Zhisui exposed the truth in his 1994 memoir but was killed by Communist agents in 1995. This spring, I even received threatening phone calls. My daughter fears for safety and urged me to stop writing, but my son supports me and even went to buy a gun for self-defense. My old life is worth little; I continue writing.
Since the Wuhan coronavirus spread worldwide, Asian hate crimes in America have surged. The American public vents their pandemic suffering on Asians, knowing the virus came from China. “Chinese” have become scapegoats. People cannot distinguish Korean from Japanese from Chinese; all Asians suffer alike. Mr. President, by not exposing Xi Jinping’s role in creating and concealing the virus, you effectively shield him and blame the Chinese and Asians instead. You confuse friend and foe and instead befriend Xi — this is your greatest mistake.
Mr. President, if you make peace with the enemy, Xi will raise his head proudly again. The Xi forces in America have revived; after a brief retreat, they pressure us exiles. We regret that on America’s free land, we cannot fully enjoy freedom.
Mr. President, you are moving toward making peace with Xi’s Communist regime, but you still stand at a crossroads. You must turn sharply around. The year 2022 is critical for opposing and forcing Xi’s removal. You must raise the anti-Communist banner high and implement the three major actions to topple Xi, launching a just and peaceful offensive against him. This will ignite a massive anti-Xi wave across China, with democratic countries worldwide coordinating to surround and suppress him, achieving the great task of removing Xi. Once successful, this will open a new chapter for you both domestically and internationally. Your prestige will rise greatly, and the future world will be firmly under your comprehensive leadership.
Sincerely,
Zhong Wen
